A long time ago...
The company's real beginnings go back to the end of 1995 when the author of these lines took part (as the only officially invited guest from Latvia) in the Russian -American conference
"New Media for a New World ",
which was organized by the Russian - American Information and Press Center at the Institute of the USA and Canada.
The result of the visit was new ideas, new contacts, and what was especially important at that time - an opportunity of guaranteed and unlimited hosting of the server at the Center for International Networking Initiatives (CINI) at Tennessee University provided by the international program "Friends and Partners".
Then the first clients appeared. When we developed our first web pages their graphic design was not important for us at all - the main task was to transfer information from newspapers to the web. Such was a very simple site for the newspaper
"Russkaya Gazeta"(Russian Newspaper). It's first issue appears in 1996 and probably it was the first online newspaper in Latvia. It was followed by the first site for the
Latvian Committee for Human Rights .
The present site
There were more projects, of course.
De jure Irga Studio was founded in April 1998 as the official representative of the Russian National Electronic Library ) in the Baltic States.
